December 13, 2006

Hard to forget that face.

Steve Buscemi is one of the best character actors working today, and he has some interesting biographical tidbits. He and Vince Vaughn got involved in a barroom brawl in North Carolina with several people. During the fracas, Buscemi was stabbed in the neck, head, and arm. Vaughn was arrested for brutalizing one of Buscemi’s attackers.

Buscemi was also a NYC firefighter in the early 80s before he made it as an actor. On September 11, he showed up at his old firehouse to volunteer. He worked 12 hour shifts for a week.

Buscemi has been in tons of films among them are: Desperado, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Fargo, Airheads, Billy Madison, Con Air, The Wedding Singer, Big Daddy, The Big Lebowski, Mr. Deeds, The Island, Monster House, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Monsters Inc., and the upcoming Charlotte’s Web and the Sandler film, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Buscemi is also directing more often.

Buscemi is 49.

Other birthdays: Jamie Foxx, Dick Van Dyke, Christopher Plummer, Amy Lee, Wendie Malick, and Ted Nugent.
