Microsoft Live Maps outdoes Google Maps

March 30, 2007

I thought Google Maps was cool, and still do. However, Microsoft’s Live Maps takes it to the next level. You can tilt the view to get more realistic ideas of landmarks, and the photos are at a higher resolution for sharper images. I can’t wait till we can get live shots, cause, as you can see from the image below, this image of St. Louis was taken a while back. It’s the old Busch Stadium. Admittedly, St. Louis may not be the best city to showcase this tool, but screw the other cities.

You must use Internet Explorer to use the tool, and it requires a quick installation. I think I will check out NY. I want to see up the Statue of Liberty’s nose.

that was pretty cool. I went and found my house (the picture was older than when we owned the house. It had a white truck in the driveway). I found our bike path, and followed it to the end. Kinda fun!

Yeah, apparently Google Earth is even better, and I heard Amazon used to have a similar program that was also quite good.
