Loudon Wainwright III

September 5, 2007

A screwy picture for a screwy guy.

Loudon Wainwright III is a funny guy. I first started to appreciate him for his work on the Apatow classic, Undeclared. I then discovered that he had done a few episodes of M*A*S*H as the singing surgeon which I vaguely remember. Wainwright also had small parts in Big Fish, The Aviator, The 40 Year Old Virgin, For Your Consideration, and Knocked Up.

Despite all of his acting and singing, Loudon might best be known for fathering singer Rufus Wainwright whose music has been fairly popular of late, but Loudon will always be Hal Karp to me.

Wainwright is 61.

Other birthdays: Bob Newhart, Raquel Welch, Rose McGowan, Dweezil Zappa, Werner Herzog, William Devane, Patty Considine, George Lazenby, and Michael Keaton.
