Bill Murray is 57

September 21, 2007

I hope he continues to make good films.

Drunken golf cart trips notwithstanding, Bill Murray is a legend.  He first made it big on the cast of Saturday Night Live, but soon found success on the big screen with comedy classics like Meatballs, Caddyshack, and Stripes.  Then Murray made the blockbuster hit, Ghost Busters, but the legacy of that film was tarnished with Ghostbusters II.  He then did several more funny movies like Scrooged, What About Bob?, Groundhog Day, and Kingpin.  Murray recently did the voice work for the title role in Garfield and Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties.

My favorite Murray films are the Wes Anderson films he’s done: Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.  He also has a role, and I assume a small one, in the soon to be released, The Darjeeling Limited.

My least favorite Murray films include Tootsie, Little Shop of Horrors, and Lost in Translation.

Other birthdays: Luke Wilson, Rob Morrow, Henry Gibson, David James Elliott, Alfonso Ribeiro, Dave Coulier, David Wenham, Stephen King, Larry Hagman, Ethan Coen, Jerry Bruckheimer, Ricki Lake, Nicole Richie, Leonard Cohen, Faith Hill, and Joseph Mazzello.
