How high’s the water, momma?

May 3, 2008

Five feet high, and rising.

When Brent, Bethany, and the gang were in town the other day, we took a trip to the Arch.  While there, we saw the river was up, and covered most of the Lewis & Clark statue on the banks of the Mississippi.

Just for comparison, and so they can see what the statue looks like, I found a picture Eleanor took on her visit in January of ’07, and set it side by side with one from last week.  Amazing what a little rain can do, huh?  As usual, clicken zie for a larger view of the picture.

Get that guy a life jacker!

Wow, that is crazy. I really wish we could have taken pictures by it. I’m glad to see such a great statue to those great Americans. I wish the dog wasn’t in the statue though. Seamen didn’t do anything extrodinary except make the long trek and avoid getting eaten when the men were starving!

Wait. The dog’s name is Seamen?
